The modding community of Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 has come so far in the past year, and now all of their work is starting to look and feel like a whole new experience.
One of the most active among them, eyelasheshas just released a new update to its ever-growing UMvC3 modpack, which adds a new character selection screen to the game for the first attempt at a tournament-ready build.
As you can see in the provided images of the new pack, the vast majority of the original cast has been replaced with modified characters that the creators have tried to balance enough to make them useful for mod tournaments.
On top of that, it even includes a new announcer to call out the fighters’ names, and the pack doesn’t just include Tabs’ custom characters, considering others like CaliKingz01’s Captain Commando, Venom, Carnage, Batsu , Sakura and Bishop are also available. choose among others.
another fix for v.7 came out with some balance tweaks and moonstone polishing.
Also since I’m making bad decisions today, here’s a public version of the tournament build with the custom CSS with all tournament-OK mod characters:

This means you won’t be able to play as the original cast that has been replaced, as the community is still trying to work on adding new character slots to the Marvel 3 select screen.
We counted 42 modified characters included in the mod pack plus Strider, Hsien-ko, Amaterasu, Storm, Modok, Ghost Rider, Doctor Doom and Shuma Gorath who are still free to choose from the old crew.
Obviously, you won’t be able to easily make this work online, so you’re better off playing locally or through a streaming service like Parsec.
Things are really starting to look like the community can create their own Marvel vs. Capcom once it clears the last remaining obstacles to fully modify it.
