Pokemon Go players are expressing their frustration after Regidrago’s Elite Raid event opened with a widespread crash across different regions.
Pokemon Go players have detailed why recent Regidrago elite raids have been a frustrating experience.
Throughout the event, players took to social media to voice their complaints about the myriad of issues they experienced trying to participate in raids.
To make matters worse, many fans were left frustrated after the mobile game went down altogether just before the event’s 11am start time.

A post on the Pokemon Go subreddit titled “The game crashed and won’t open at 11…” garnered more than 1,200 upvotes and nearly 250 comments, many of whom said they had experienced a similar problem.
Interestingly, the severity of the crashes differed for players, as one noted, “I can go into the game and click on Pokemon, but it crashes when I try to go into a raid.” Others noted that they encountered a “Down for maintenance” message when the event started.

This was probably because, as relayed by the PokeMiners Twitter account, Niantic was updating the Regidrago event with relevant data even after the elite raids began.

Due to the time-based nature of the event, many trainers’ schedules were completely disrupted, and some were unable to complete raids at all.
“This is what I get for taking the kids and driving to a gym for this,” said one fan. They updated their post to say: “He ended up going in, hitting him with 3 people with seconds left. I put him in a ball and then it went to ‘Can’t find pokemon’ or something like that screen d ‘error”. Finally, they were forced to abandon the attack.
Fans on TheSilphRoad subreddit shared a similar experience, with trainers commenting that they also had to leave the event or waste resources.

“I’ve been standing outside in the freezing rain sideways for 30 minutes only to have the game fail the whole time. It’s time to leave this game and spend that time on more productive things like watching paint dry” .
With Niantic’s recent commitment to in-person experiences right before this disastrous in-person Regidrago event, the community is understandably upset with the developer.
