Huawei is preparing to release its next foldable device, the Huawei Mate X3 version. Teaser images (via Gizmochina) appear on Huawei’s social media handles, indicating that the foldable this time around would be light and sturdy.
The Mate Xs 2 successor will be released next week, March 23rd.
Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, has revealed information about Huawei’s next foldable flagship. Young reveals that the Mate X3 will have a large 7.85-inch foldable display. The external display is said to measure 6.45 inches, and both panels still support LTPO technology.

In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 7.6-inch foldable display and the outer display is around 6.2 inches.
Young also mentions that the Mate X3 will use UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) on the display, confirming what Huawei has been teasing recently. The Gizmochina report further states that it is presumably Kunlun glass, the same ultra-strong drop-resistant panel used in the Huawei Mate 50 Pro debuting in 2022. In addition, the aforementioned screens should have a 2K resolution.
Finally, the Huawei Mate X3 is the company’s first foldable device to include the recently announced satellite communication feature. In addition, we may also see the new Huawei Watch Ultimate alongside the launch of a foldable device next week.
Huawei makes great foldable smartphones; unfortunately, its government’s trade embargo does not allow them to enter the US market. Huawei devices also miss out on Google’s ecosystem and related applications for the same reasons.
