What you need to know
- Google is expanding its Pixel Superfans program to the UK.
- Access to the program is now available to those living in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
- Members have exclusive access to events and early access to new products and features, among other benefits.
Google launched a program for Pixel smartphone lovers in 2021 ahead of the debut of the Pixel 6 series that year, but it was only available in the US. This exclusivity ends now that the Pixel Superfans program has arrived in the UK.
The program registration form is now available on the Google Store page, where you will be asked about your social media accounts, affiliations and hobbies, and personal information. You’ll also need to tell the search giant what Google, Nest and Fitbit products you use, such as any top Android phones or Fitbit trackers.
Google also asks new members which benefits they are most interested in. For the uninitiated, the program offers early access to new products and features, as well as exclusive invitations to events. Pixel Superfans also get to meet the Teams behind their favorite Google devices.
It’s also a sort of social networking platform in that members can connect with other Pixel fans. Google naturally uses the program to send special offers and discounts to members, which is yet another marketing strategy used by the company.
However, there is no harm in participating in the program, although according to Google it is only available to those living in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
“Pixel Superfans is a program for people who love Pixel products,” Google said on its sign-up page. “We were inspired to create this program because we know many of you love Pixel as much as we do, and we wanted to create a space where we can get to know each other.”
However, not everyone can join. Pixel Superfans is not open to the press, government officials or Alphabet employees. If you are not one of them, you can join the fight by going to the registration page (opens in a new tab) now.
The Pixel 7 is one of Google’s best smartphones thanks to its elegant design and the Tensor G2 chipset that supports it. The 50-megapixel camera produces sharp images, and AI features keep you updated on your most important appointments, packages and more.
