TL;DR
- IJP has released a preview of CoverScreen OS for Oppo Find N2 Flip.
- The application turns the cover screen into a fully functional mini-phone.
- Almost any application or widget can be launched from the cover screen.
The company best known for its CoverScreen OS is back with another update. This time, however, their new app focuses on the Oppo Find N2 Flip.
Developer IJP announced the first preview version of its new CoverScreen OS app update XDA Developers forum). The app, which adds extra functionality to the external screens of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip phones, now supports the relatively large flip screen of the Oppo Find N2 Flip. More interesting, however, is that the update turns the screen into a slightly smaller phone.
Once installed, the app appears to let you navigate between, launch, and interact with apps just like you would on the main screen. It also works with widgets that are usually added to the home screen. Although the company admits it works for most apps and widgets, not all.
All the features that come with the update include:
- Cover Launcher/App Launcher/Box
- Support for all third-party app home screen widgets
- Quick Toggles – a TON of them!
- Navigation gestures
- Announcements
- Powerful media display – multiple sessions, scroll through the track and additional controls that are not available
- Samsung’s Stock OS for the cover screen
- Sound, QWERTY, T9 full keyboard support
- Runs on top of Oppo’s launcher, so you still have access to System Quick Toggles and widgets!
In the videos below, you can see the app in action as a user swipes through apps, opens a YouTube video, and opens Google Chrome to search for “Oppo.”
As you can see, the screen works almost the same as if you were using the main screen. The company also added a video showing how the widgets look when using the app.
Overall, it seems to run pretty smoothly, which may be because IPJ ironed out the wrinkles from previous versions of CoverScreen OS. The app has been available since the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and later got an update for the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
If you want to try it on your own Oppo Find N2 Flip, the latest version of the app is available on the Play Store. Click the button below to go to the shop page.
