Delhi cop stops musician from performing at Connaught Place.
By Shubhi Mishra: A video of a Delhi Police cop stopping a musician from playing the guitar has gone viral online. The incident happened in Connaught Place where a man was playing a song on the street. A number of people also gathered to listen to him but he was abruptly stopped by the cop. The clip was shared on Twitter by actor Rajesh Tailang and has infuriated the internet.
Rajesh Tailang shared the video on January 4. In the 15-second clip, a musician can be seen playing the guitar. All of a sudden, a policeman came and closed his guitar case. He approached the musician and removed his hand from the guitar. “Sunai nahi de raha kya (Can’t you hear me)? Khade ho (Stand up),” the cop said.
The musician also got irritated and said, “Ye koi tareeka hai kya (Is this the way)?” He even started arguing with the policeman.
“Watched this clip on Instagram. @DelhiPolice, this is not done. These artists make our Delhi more aesthetical, musical. Shame,” Rajesh Tailang wrote in the caption of the post.

The video garnered over 3 lakh views after being shared online. While some people slammed the behavior of the policeman, others came out in support.
“When hate spreads, art and the appreciation of it diminishes rapidly,” a user wrote.
Another user commented, “Not on public thoroughfare. Take proper permission and play in an area which is marked for public gathering. If this is continued, imagine all and sundry would take over the streets and start doling out their skills whether musicians, sculptors, painters or any other skill.”
