Amazfit teases March 14 smartwatch launch – likely GTR Mini

Amazfit has teased a new smartwatch launch to be revealed on Tuesday, March 14.

The teaser on social media makes it pretty clear that a smartwatch is set to launch, and the graphics give us some serious clues as to what it might contain.

It shows the outline of a round-faced smartwatch, with a crown at the 2 o’clock position.

It looks like this could be the long-awaited Amazfit GTR Mini, which was leaked back in January. We covered the rumor back then, and if it turns out to be true, it could be a powerful addition to the budget smartwatch market.

The GTR Mini smartwatch will feature a 1.28-inch 2.5D AMOLED touchscreen and built-in GPS, making it a well-rounded and aesthetically pleasing device.

It is expected to have a smaller 42mm screen compared to the 46mm screen of the full-size GTR 4.

Leaked information suggests that the GTR Mini will have a stainless steel case and be available in blue, pink and black color options.

Over the years we’ve been big admirers of the various incarnations of the Amazfit GTS Mini, which we feel offer excellent value. In fact, we have regularly recommended it over the GTS 4. But without the GTR version, there have always been major reservations about the design.

Now it seems that Amazfit could get its best-looking smartwatch in a unisex and slim size. And if it follows the $100 price tag of the GTS Mini, we could have a top budget smartwatch on our hands.

Watch this space on March 14th.
