Social media reacts to Florida landing a commitment from 4-star WR Eugene Wilson III

The Florida Gators recruiting is starting to catch some fire in the early part of July. This week alone the Gators have added three four-star prospects, with those three names jumping on board in the last two days. The latest name to pop for the coaching staff came on Friday when Tampa (Fla.) Gaither four-star wide receiver Eugene Wilson III joined forced with the staff.

Wilson III has been a top target for the Florida Gators coaching staff since he landed an offer from them earlier in the year. He wasted little time getting on campus right out of the gate of March, and left campus stating the Gators were his outright leader. He never wavered on those claims over the course of the following months leading up to his July commitment date. The slot wide receiver position was a heavy focus for the Florida staff this cycle, and they have now landed two names at that position currently in Wilson III and Whittemore Creed. Both of those names have some speed they bring.

The Gators 2023 class currently sits at 12 verbal commitments to date with the addition of Wilson III. Those other names include Thomasville (GA) Upson-Lee four-star edge TJ Searcy, Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian four-star running back Treyaun WebbSaint Petersburg (Fla.) Lakewood four-star edge rusher Isaiah NixonJacksonville (Fla.) Bartram Trail four-star defensive back Sharif DensonGainesville (Fla.)
