The NASCAR docuseries, Race for the Championship, starts airing on Thursday, September 1, 2022, on USA Network.

The new NASCAR docuseries could help capture a younger fanbase as Formula One did with Drive to Survive

Formula One’s drive to survive has been a massive hit across the globe. With four seasons in, the show has managed to draw a huge American audience to the sport.

Formula One is a sport that has been around for a similar time frame to NASCAR. Even F1, back in the Bernie Ecclestone era had seen its fan base dropping out over time. A show like Drive to Survive attracts people with no prior knowledge of the sport and educates them within a single season so that they are hooked on it.

F1 had been trying for a long time to enter the American audience pool, but previous historic attempts of hosting races were not profitable apart from the race at Circuit of The Americas. However, this year with the increased interest of fans in the sport, F1 held a Grand Prix in Miami and will be hosting another one in Las Vegas next year.

Moreover, this is definitely a step in the right direction for NASCAR and hopefully, with time, there will be a massive rise in viewership for all three series under NASCAR. This might even bring in viewers not just from America, but across the world. Now all that’s left to do is wait for the series to drop.
