Bill Maher, Happy St. Patrick’s Day, we’re going to be another Northern Ireland

The “Real Time” host had a warning that would do well to heed — our politics have become a religion for most Americans, and the level of hatred toward people who embrace a “different” religion is bringing us closer to disaster.

It happened in Northern Ireland, where a politically combustible landscape has turned into urban warfare, and Bill sees us moving in that direction.

According to him, Democrats and Republicans feel the same level of hatred for those they oppose. Most people from both parties do not want their children to marry someone tied to the opposite party.

And then he calls the name Marjorie Taylor Greenwho has urged “national divorce” – in other words, the creation of two countries … consisting of blue states on one side and red states on the other.

Besides being ridiculous, Bill points out that there are fundamental divisions within every political party, so to think that divorce will create harmony is just plain silly.
