Patrick Beverleythat’s right – at least it is And rule says, tells TMZ Sports he believes In Morant is definitely badly influenced by hip-hop.
Chicago Bulls guard made waves earlier this week by saying that he believed that rap and the culture surrounding it is contributing to Morant’s latest misstep … and when we caught up with Ja Rule at LAX this week, he couldn’t have agreed more.
NBA’s Pat Beverley blames today’s rap music for Ja Morant’s behavior
He said that growing up he was influenced to smoke weed Redman‘s “How To Roll A Blunt” – and the pressure to drink booze passed Snoop Dogg‘s “Gin and Juice” … and he made it clear he thinks Morant is similarly influenced by today’s tunes.
But the “Holla Holla” rapper told us he thinks Morant needs to stop all that ASAP … telling us, “that’s not the way.”
“Go play ball, man,” he said. “The streets ain’t about nothing, man. Go grind on ’em. Keep balling. That’s it, man.”
Morant has been investigated by police at least three times in the past calendar year – most recently when he was seen on video flash a gun at a strip club earlier this month.
Each time, Morant has evaded charges … even though he admitted to one sit-down conversation with Jalen Rose this week he has to start making better choices.
“In the future,” he told Rose, “I want to show everyone who Ja really is, what I’m all about and change this narrative.”
Morant currently earns a eight games banned for the gun incident … but is eligible to return on March 20.
