The film received mixed reviews from the critics but seems to be doing well at the box office. In a recent interview to PTI, he said he is worried that people are warming up to rom-coms after a good dose of action spectacles like Brahmastra and most recently Pathaan.
He said: “After the pandemic, there has been some change in viewing. Maybe audiences are warming up to action movies, big-ticket experiences, special effects movies, this is a rom-com. I want to see if audiences still give it a chance. It’s important for the film industry that such films work, because then the genre is still alive… Otherwise we will be stuck making action spectacles for the cinemas. Sometimes you just want to go and see a nice sweet rom-com and have fun . To that end, I hope it works.”
