Elizabeth Olsen last starred with Wanda Maximoff in the 2022s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Now the actress is talking about whether she will return to the character.
Ever since Wanda apparently perished at the end of Doctor Strange 2fans have endlessly speculated whether she survived the destruction of Mount Wungadore.
Olsen has recently made a number of rather telling comments regarding the idea of her returning to the role. At Comfest Con in February, she hinted at retaliation. And last year in September, the actress expressed to Variety her desire to redeem the character from her nefarious actions in the Multiverse of Madness.
Now Elizabeth Olsen has again commented on a possible comeback for Scarlet Witch.
Elizabeth Olsen believes she will return as Wanda
Talking to DeadlineScarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen remarked about the possibility of returning to her fan-favorite character.
While expressing uncertainty about how to answer the question, she teased that she might return when asked if Wanda Maximoff will appear in Agatha: Chaos Coven:
“I’ll never know how to answer these questions, except I don’t… I think I’ll be back…”
Where could Wanda appear in Phases 5 and 6?
Earlier it was reported by Deadline that Olsen could also reprise Wanda in the upcoming Vision Quest Disney+ series. So it could be that she has another upcoming appearance besides Agatha: Chaos Coven.
But where else could Maximoff appear? She is, of course, one of the most powerful characters in the MCU. And while she was recently corrupted by the Darkhold’s malevolent power, there’s definitely room for a redemption arc.
After all, the Avengers are going to need all the help they can get in their two upcoming team-up movies. And while it’s not confirmed, it’s probably safe to say that Elizabeth Olsen will portray Scarlet Witch in one if not both of the next two Avengers movies.
But circles back to Chaos Coven; it makes perfect sense for Wanda to make her presence known in that series, given the history between her and Agatha Harkness. As fans will probably remember, it was Maximoff who put Harkness under a spell, making her believe that she was just a simple resident of Westview, New Jersey named Agnes.
Agatha: Chaos Coven is currently without a release date, but recent rumors have pointed to the show being delayed from its expected late 2023/early 2024 slot
