The Injustice Universe and Superman’s Super Son, explained

That Injustice Universe launched in 2013 and spanned two video games and several comic books, the first of which was titled Injustice: Gods Among Us based on the original video game. In this DC universe, Superman took over Earth as a ruthless dictator after the death of his wife, Lois Lane, and their unborn son. The Man of Steel was manipulated into killing Lois by the Joker, making the Clown Prince of Crime Superman’s first victim when the hero decided that murder was an acceptable method of saving lives and ensuring peace. Taylor is one of the main architects behind it Injusticewrites the original God is among us comics and other titles that followed such as Injustice 2 comics that tie into the sequel video game released in 2017.

As for Jon Kent, created by writer-artist Dan Jurgens in the 2015s Convergence: Superman #2, he is the son of main DC Universes Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Taylor has written Jon’s evolution from Superboy to Superman within the now completed Superman: Son of Kal-El series, where Jon came out as bisexual and introduced his boyfriend, Jay Nakamura. Posted by Action comics #1050 and Lazarus Planet: Assault on Krypton #1, The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent now sees Jon recruited by Superman Val-Zod to stop Ultraman from killing the Clark Kents across the multiverse, a killing spree that will lead to Earth-49, home of Injustice.

Superman’s adventures may take place before the First Injustice

Together with The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #4, other prompts indicate that Jon will arrive in Injustice The universe at a time before the first video game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Details for the series’ third issue explain that “a Kal-El rules this world in apparent peace” while Batman is “public enemy number one.” This describes how Injustice The universe preceded God is among uswhere Batman and Lex Luthor pulled in a Justice League from another Earth to depose Superman.

Along with Taylor and Henry, The Adventures of Superman: Jon Kent #4 will sport variant cover artwork contributed by Henry, Zu Orzu, Al Barrionuevo, Tyler Kirkham and Stephen Byrne. The issue is set to go on sale June 6 from DC Comics.
