A heavy-handed light heavyweight matchup is heading to an upcoming UFC event in April.
With 20 knockouts between them, Dustin Jacoby will take on the undefeated Azamat Murzakanov at the UFC Fight Night event taking place April 15. The event does not have a publicly-known location or venue.
Multiple people with knowledge of the booking recently informed MMA Junkie of the booking but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Jacoby (18-6-1 MMA, 6-3-1 UFC) will look to rebound from a tight split decision loss to Khalil Rountree in October. The setback marked the first of his second stint in the UFC, previously winning six of seven, including a split draw. Jacoby, 34, has also racked up three first-round finishes since being signed after an appearance on Dana White’s Contender Series in 2020.
A dangerous finisher, Murzakanov (12-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) has yet to taste defeat in his professional career. After impressing on DWCS in 2021 by finishing Matheus Scheffel, Murzakanov, 33, has since gone on to finish his first two UFC opponents Tafon Nchukwi and Devin Clark.
With the addition, the current April 15 lineup includes:
- Dustin Jacoby vs. Azamat Murzakanov
- Bruna Brazil vs. Deinse Gomes
- Martin Buday vs. Jake Collier
