Rapha has confirmed the publication of Off-Road Heroes. The new book is billed as… ‘a history of mountain biking that traces the events and moments that birthed a cycling movement and reveals the stories of people who shaped the progression of the sport.’
This coffee table book features 256 pages of full-color photography and contributions by authors Guy Andrews, Richard Cunningham, Matt Wragg, and others.
A release from Rapha added… ‘From the pre-history of gravel races in Europe to ground zero in northern California, where a band of counterculture off-road cyclists pioneered the technology and the term ‘mountain bike’, Off-Road Heroes chronicles the contributions of some of the sport’s greatest heroes, retracing their steps through 40 years of technical and athletic evolution that ultimately reshaped every area of the cycling industry.
From the golden age of freeride to the rise of enduro, this definitive guide follows the progression of the sport from a bunch of weirdos in the woods to an international outdoor recreation phenomenon that is bigger than ever. The story of the mountain bike is an uplifting testament to the transformative power of a united community, to the magic of nature, and to the bicycle itself.’
Editor Guy Andrews (Rouleur Magazine) compiles a collection of mountain biking’s greatest hits as told by some of the leading voices of the sport. The book is priced at US $40 / £30 – and is comprised of 256 pages on FSC approved edition 120gsm paper, Swiss bound to display on a table.
Printed in the UK, the book features over 200 images from some of the world’s best mountain bike photographers.
