Kenny Chesney books two Alabama shows for 2023: How to get tickets

Country superstar Kenny Chesney will return to Alabama in 2023, with tickets for two shows going on sale Friday, Dec. 2.

According to information on Chesney’s website, he’ll play Legacy Arena at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center on Wednesday, April 12. The general public on-sale starts at 10 am Dec. 2 via Ticketmaster. A series of presales starts as early as Nov. 23, including an American Express presale, premium and basic No Shoes Nation presales and an AEG presale.

According to information released Monday by Birmingham-based Red Mountain entertainment, Chesney will play The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on Saturday, May 27 with special guest Kelsea Ballerini, who’ll be featured throughout the tour. Tickets sales for the general public begin at 10 am Dec. 2 via Ticketmaster. According to kennychesney.com, presales for this show also begin at 10 am Nov. 23

Both shows are part of the “I Go Back” tour, a follow-up to the juggernaut 2022 “Here and Now” tour that brought Chesney to 21 NFL stadiums. Chesney said he wanted to revisit the past. (Note: In addition to those mega-shows, Chesney also played some smaller amphitheaters in 2022, including stops in Huntsville and Orange Beach.)

“I can still hear No Shoes Nation singing those songs after being apart for four whole summers,” he said in a release announcing new tour dates. “It’s a sound that reminds me how much music really means to people. It’s not about the numbers, but the joy you see on people’s faces – and the more I thought about it, the more I thought about taking the music to the people who were there when this thing was taking off.”

“I Go Back 2023 is going to be so awesome,” Chesney said. “To be able to take this music to where it comes from? To have Kelsea Ballerini out there with me, maybe even singing ‘half of my hometown’? It’s going to be a tour unlike any other – and I can’t wait.”
