Our newsroom sometimes reports stories under the title “Pioneer Staff Report.” This byline is used when reporters paraphrase basic newsletters originating from official sources, such as an email or press release, that require little or no reporting.

Other times, this byline is used when a news story includes multiple authors, or when the story is formed by assembling previously reported news from various sources. If external sources are used, this is noted in the story.
