‘Everything Everywhere’ star Michelle Yeoh made history as the first Asian woman to win Best Actress, while co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Jamie Lee Curtis also won the actor categories respectively. and supporting actress. Only two other films in Oscar history – ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’ and ‘Network’ – have won three acting Oscars.
Brendan Fraser, the once ubiquitous star of the 90s, took to the stage to an overwhelming ovation as he won Best Actor for his role in ‘The Whale.’
The film with the most wins was “All Quiet on the Western Front”, with four.
Lady Gaga, who took the stage to perform “Hold My Hand,” her original song from Oscar-nominated “Top Gun: Maverick,” added a tally to the night of emotional moments. She stunned the audience with a costume change, in which she ditched her runway dress and makeup for a black graphic tee, ripped jeans and Chucks.
All of the nominated original songs were featured on the Oscars telecast, including the winner’s “Naatu Naatu” elastic suspender dance from “RRR” and a Super Bowl follow-up by Rihanna.

Host Jimmy Kimmel made sure to address the elephant (or perhaps the cocaine bear) in the play – last year’s infamous “slap in the face”.
“We want you to have fun, to feel safe, and most importantly, we want me to feel safe,” Kimmel said, referring to the time Will Smith punched host Chris Rock, and won the best actor award. “So we have strict policies in place. If anyone in this theater commits an act of violence at any time during the show, you will receive the Oscar for Best Actor and be allowed to make a 19-minute speech. minutes.”
