Eddie Kingston took to Twitter in support of former AEW Women’s Champion Riho

As we reported, Ring of Honor Wrestling star Eddie Kingston deactivated his Twitter account on Friday before Over The Top Wrestling announced that Kingston would be unable to attend the ScrapperMania event after testing positive for COVID-19.

On Saturday, Kingston took to Instagram to explain why she left Twitter. Kingston shared a photo of Terry Funk with the words, “Terry Funk is the GOAT,” and the caption, “I got rid of my Twitter because I saw some mean tweets on Riho and I’m done.”

The former AEW Women’s Champion has quit the social media site due to the constant online abuse she received. Like Kingston, Riho took to Instagram after quitting Twitter. Active his Instagram storiesshe thanked her fans for all their messages of support and “realized she was loved by more people than she thought.”

Kingston isn’t the first to speak out about online bullying, either. As noted, last month AEW EVP Kenny Omega commented on Swerve Strickland’s podcast about the online harassment that Riho and other Joshi stars in AEW faced, reminding fans that not all professional wrestlers are created equal.

One of Riho’s most recent AEW matches was on the March 10 edition of “AEW Rampage”, where she defeated Nyla Rose. He returned to AEW programming on the March 1 edition of “AEW Dynamite”, where he defeated Tony Storm. Riho’s last Dynamite match before her return was on October 26, where she lost to AEW Women’s Champion Jamie Hayter.
