Chinese firms’ hiring intentions hit eight-year low: S&P survey

Chinese companies plan to increase hiring in the coming year as the economy recovers and operations return to normal after the end of Covid restrictions, S&P Global said.

The net balance, which measures whether Chinese companies expect an increase in the number of employees over the next 12 months, was 11% in February, the highest level in eight years, according to an S&P survey. That compared to just 2% in the most recent survey conducted in October.
